CCPIA News - Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association

BOULDER, Colo. (May 22, 2026) — The Certified Commercial Property Inspectors Association (CCPIA®) has become the second-largest inspection association in the industry, marking a major milestone for the organization and the commercial property inspection profession.

Since assuming the role of Executive Director, Maggie Aey has led a period of substantial growth. The association expanded its technical training curriculum, certification programs, and business development resources while strengthening its role within the commercial real estate industry through strategic partnerships and member-focused initiatives.

Recent milestones include collaborations with CoStar and the launch of a professional liability insurance program through OREP that is available exclusively to CCPIA® Certified Commercial Property Inspectors. The insurance program is the first of its kind, developed around the International Standards of Practice for Inspecting Commercial Properties (ComSOP) and available only to inspectors who have met CCPIA’s certification and training requirements.

The association’s most recent curriculum expansion includes advanced training in commercial building systems, maintenance inspections, pricing and proposals, and other topics designed to support inspectors throughout their careers.

Growing demand from buyers, sellers, investors, property managers, lenders, insurers, and owner-occupants has increased the need for qualified commercial property inspectors. As a result, more residential inspectors, contractors, code inspectors, and other property professionals are pursuing training and expanding into commercial property inspection services.

“Commercial property inspections continue to represent one of the fastest-growing segments of the inspection profession,” said Maggie Aey. “CCPIA’s growth reflects both the increasing demand for commercial inspection services and the commitment of our members to advancing their knowledge, qualifications, and service offerings.”
